So why are other sites getting so boring?

I was a very avid member of Overlander for quite a while. I will agree that some of the subjects certainly don't have a lot to do with four wheel drives, and that some members do go over the top with some stuff.

But - I have got some really great friends from that site. You can't judge everyone the same. There are some really genuine folks on there that I am very proud to call mates.

And - the four wheel driving wasn't always soft. Have a look at some of the trip reports I did during that period. I'm sure that Slunnie and Max can agree to that as well. We used to cater for all different makes and models of vehicles. Some trips where soft (like the Bridle Track) but the scenery was fantastic. Other trips (say the Watagans) where full on in the mud and damage occured quite often.

I do like this site, and the fact that it is Land Rover specific is good for me. Each person will like something different in a site. I just don't understand how bagging out other sites is worth it. Some of them may not like our site - whereas we love it. Each to their own.

Absolutely. I'm not sure what the MT Mee area is like, but as Chris has said, some of the trips that have been done on Overlander that are Sydney based have had some difficult elements. If damage is an indicator of difficulty (yeah, driver also) then some of the drives have been quite reasonable. Actually, I don't recall an Overlander trip without something breaking. :lol2:

This said, stuff that is easy for one fella, may be mind blowing for another.

Glad I can be of help (read pain in the a$$). And yes, this is about the only site (apart from discoweb.org - love the pics!) I visit. I got a lot of help not only in reading past posts, but also from you people. Thanks very much, and I intend to stay and as more questions :D

Mt Mee used to be a good day out but the enviro-Nazis have locked up the good bits and left us with the 'X-Trail- type terrain and they grade it even when it's a little lumpy :eek: :eek:

Unfortunatley from what I have seen about the QLD Overlander trips they look a bit simple and easy for me. I've seen the Vic and NSW ones and that's more what I'm into and would be keen to go.

Bagging Overlander wasn't my intention but from the attitudes of some of the members it seems that they're full of themselves a bit. I do get sick and bloody tired of the anti-LR rubbish on there though and hence why I am an occasional visitor.
