God there's a lot ov em! But what would you expect for a British vehicle forum! You have to be quirky to own one, and the LR most certainly is quirky.

Yeah I'm one too. Came over in 1973 to assist the motor industry deal with exhaust emissions. They still dont know!

I presume that once you have posted on this thread you give permission to be called a whinging Pommie git by any other poster on this thread without risk of offence

    Is this correct?

And the fact that here in QLD it doesn't matter if the heater don't work and the demister isn't up to much and water leaks in...... you can justify having a Defender! Fantastic!!

Does it count if I'm from across the channel ?
I lost count of how many times my ancestors crossed over back and forth, silly buggers couldn't make their minds up what side they wanted to live on.

But been here in Australia for 37 years and have been naturalized, pasteurized, homogenized...and done my time in the green fatigues.

And still a bloody Frenchman to some

I didon't mind being wed to a neutralised Pom. After all my Mum and Dad and elder brother and sister came out in 1949. All except Sis are neutralised. I was first of tribe born here, then another two brothers. Will go for a look one day.

Another 10quid job here, came out in 63 with mum,4 brothers and 2 of my 3 sisters (eldest was a nun and stayed behind, however she repented and has been here many years now, married and family grown up.)
Became a citizen in 78 here in Bris. Aussi wife of 31 years is not and never has been a SWMBO. In fact we are going to put "Mum's Car" prominently on the race car in recognition of the fact that she is our only sponsor. Hmmm! actually should put it on the Rangy aswell. neither would be happening without her generosity of spirit....and purse as I'm just a pennyless old POM.
