Hi Captain!
The Renaults are very reliable these days. Friends of ours have bought their second Scenic a couple of years ago and are still happy. Other friends of ours have bought their Scenic at about the same time and experienced no probs whatsoever.
We don't have one, but we have a Fiat (see posts above) which has been more reliable than all our Landrovers...
If you are going to buy the Renault make sure it's a Diesel!

At risk of getting banned or put in the stock and dead tomatoes thrown at my person, I'd get a Honda Jazz in the 3 mode Auto or a Civic.
Why wont the family fit in a Mini?
If you can put up with the lack of room for the first 12months (give her the Landy to drive during this time) then you won't need half the stuff to cart around for the baby then the Mini shouldn't be an issue

Everyone that you talk to about the scenic loves them for their practicality. It's a shame they don't do a diesel. Having said that the petrol is pretty slow so the diesel wouldn't be much chop! Apparently they are releasing it with one soon.Quote:

I'm assuming they are exactly the same as the normal Scenic but with raised suspension and 4WD on Demand.
I'm interested in one of these....they certainly have all the gear in them, if you get the top of the range model.
I owned a Scenic back in the UK, and bought one as a second car, as it won European car of the year when it was launched. I had the 1.6, but I regretted not getting the 2.0, as it was slightly underpowered. However, it was a very reliable car, and the seating is very flexible. Take em out, stick em in, swap em round. ecomomy was excellent, and it was very practical. 2 years and never had a single issue with it....
The RX is not really a capable vehicle for poff road purposes, but it does look good....
My parents had a RX but had to get rid of it as they split up, I begged and pleaded for it but was told "NO".
All I can say is I loved it, plenty of room, smooth to drive, ran on the smell of a oily rag.
In the 3 bit years they had it they never had a problem with it, but then again my old men wouldn't let you let the windows down as you would scratch the window tint....how he figured that I don't know.:mad:
Anyway if I had that kind of choice I would get one.;)
I found it funny when they first came out and they did reviews on it, and went on how bad a 4x4 they were compared to other ones, when the ****heads should have known that they were only a all wheel drive just like a Subaru, anyway any excuse to **** on the French I guess.:cool:
Actually... they're NOT an all-wheel drive. The rear only has power if the front slips. That's why they got bagged - they lacked the angles for off-road on hard surfaces and you had to bog the front before the rear got power so no good on sand either.Quote:
