this was taken in early 1983, not long after i got my first 4wd, up at duffys forest near terrey hills in an area that was an abandonned brick pit.
it has now been redeveloped into one of those exclusive golf clubs that only rich japanese are silly enough to join.

My first 4wd...
78 Rangie bought from John Davis. It was love at first fright. P76 motor on dual fuel, lots of lift and General Grabber 33" muddies to make it a true handful. Needed it as a daily driver from Sackville (north of Windsor) to Chatswood, so took it back to genuine springs with just a bit of lift and good road tyres.

I was a late starter to 4WD, main thing my first 4WD was a Landy :D and you have all seen the pics of it before,

Rebuilt to this condition after school. Had a lot of fun driving it around my parents property. Still there, retired. Was my granddads, ex qld government. When i got it the chassis was rusted away. We had a reasonable replacement, trouble was this was 4 cyl chassis, and it was a 2.6 6 cyl. So just moved engine mounts forwards. Had a pto winch which was good for pulling logs. If any one wonders, the mudguards are 44gal drum halves. Trees were bashing the others up to much.

Unfortunately you can't get to that area any more, its down near the junction of Yalway Creek and Ettrema creek an area that was closed of in 1991 for the Ettrema wilderness (don't get me started on that one).Quote:

All the creeks rivers down that way (probably most of the state) need a real good flush through.
Punch 34deg 50' 20.16S , 150deg 22' 44.01E into Google earth and you'll see the area.
