I can't stand Greenpeace. I have an environmental degree however I wouldn't have anything to do with them. I am more of a realist sort of environmentalist. The sort of person that likes the system of protecting National Parks while permitting development in the rest of the world. I am not about to give up my V8 4wd so I wouldn't expect anyone else to either. Not as simple as that I know but I'm just having a rant.
I used to ride my bike to work when it was a 30min ride into the CBD to get there. That was quicker than it would take by car or bus.

Just ****s me to see Greenpeace telling me to give up my car when I am sure they get around in aeroplanes and V6 cars etc.

Just like the age old picture of a smoke belching Kombi with its save the world stickers on the back.

I think the ad maker may be in a bit of poo....

If I was Toyota, I'd be after them big time...
(I'm not defending Toyota, but look at the video and imagine YOUR favorite 4wd in the 'hero' shot).

It's a poorly constructed piece without any actual point or purpose.

What we have in this ad is as follows: This poor innocent looking guy who drives a 4wd has to endure crap from a bunch of d1ckheads who should be working.

I'd keep him and fire the rest for wasting my time and my money.

Then I'd suggest he trades the Toyo for a D3 V8 (with several superchargers).

Greenpeace lost the plot a long time ago, sadly........

If the local tv and radio news can use the word 'arrssse', why is it censored here?

I think they may have done enough to the 'Cruiser to make it unidentifiable as a Toyota product by removing badges. They might not have a case. But I hope they do.

Don't know why they are wasting their time on what is really a trivial issue.

The biggest environmental threat of all is too many people. We are hell bent on unrestrained development and expansion which is unsustainable. That won't stop because people are basically greedy. I am in Melbourne at the moment and the main news item every night is the drought, water restrictions etc, yet driving out to Sale the other day I passed miles of new suburbs. Same in Perth, they can't release land quickly enough.

And we are nothing compared to China and India.

I came up with a brilliant idea which would cut pollution, traffic congestion and road rage in one hit. Only give licences to the 10% of people that can actually drive. The rest get slugged an extra 2% income tax which goes towards a really efficient public transport system. Perfect!

Absolutely correct, whether looked at on a local, national or world scale. Not only the biggest environmental threat, but the source of most of our other problems, from water shortages, to power shortages to traffic congestion, to epidemic disease, and so on.

There are some advantages to more people - but I think we have long since passed the point where the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.

The world would not be developed without the 4x4.

At least we Land Rover drivers don't drive too much as parts and repairs are too costly!
The ones I have seen normally rock up to protest in busted A$#e falcons and holdens belching more smoke into the air than Union Carbide in India. Most of them are hypocrites. Not saying for a minute we should not look after the environment as I believe most 4x4 owners are green at heart and take better care of our environment than so called environmental groups. Banning or targetting 4x4s is not the answer. We should be united and look for an equitable solution that benefits all not using these issues to grandstand and politicise.

I agree this increasing populations are the main problem, more people means more cars, more electricity to power houses and so on. But that wont stop when the government are paying people $4000 a pop to have babies. Now any sensible person knows $4000 doesnt scratch the surface when it comes to raising a child but the 'feral' citizens of our country dont know this and see having a baby as a get rich quick scheme, the number or pregnant or young girls with babies filling the main street of lithgow on dole day is out of control. The government seems hell bent on getting people to have babies they have lost sight of reality. Matt

That's not as silly as it sounds Ace, For Example: if you had 3 kids you could get $12000 which when added to the $7000 first home buyers grant becomes $19000, which is a tidy deposit on a home in the Ghetto.

Seriously though if we never had any wars and everyone who was ever killed in a war or died early because of one was still alive today imagine just how over populated the world would be.

So I say let the North Koreans make their Nukes, and the Arabs fly planes into whatever, the only true answer for over population is another world war.

Or maybe the world sees Human beings as a virus and is trying to get rid of us?

In reality who cares, I'm off drift net fishing, gotta tow the boat behind the V8 Rangie as the Commercial van is to hot from running all day.
Anyone got any good recepies for Dolphin
