OH .......I just long for the day they bring back the triangle and cat o' nine tails. Have in some of the carribean nations, ....tell ya what 9 strokes, delivered in 3 sets of three, with 20 minutes between, will make ya think long and hard before you do it again. :)

Yup! the dummie's head was inside a full face helmet, and, it would depend on the correct note P****** wire that was used, some fool has been seting the same type of thing up on some NPWS walking tracks on Bribie Is to stop kids and others on trail bikes:( It is listed as a Man Trap up here:nazilock:
The Stone Scene looked good though, there were dozens of people out scuba diving looking for the "Kwaka-9" that went into the harbour:) pity it was a VERY BENT honda 450 that had hit a warehouse wall in Ultimo:D that was dummied up to look like a "9" ;) the sound track for the race scene between Stone and Toad didn't come out too well using the Commando so it was redubbed using a Triumph Trophy down at Vic Hofmann's M/cycle shop;)

It’s no quite as severe but I used to live in a town with a park that had a small gauge steam train ride. (A miniature steam train that pulls carriages and the driver sits on the engine where the coal would usually go).
Anyhow one day someone decided to tie a heavy poundage fishing line between two trees. Needless to say the driver was caught under the chin, he lived to tell the tale but his neck was a mess.
We could do with a few less idiots in the world.
I have seen this happen on two occasions, once an accident, once deliberate. A friend was riding his bike down a long hill in the bush and an old telegraph wire had fallen over the track. He did not see it until too late. The riders with him only had duct tape and needed to duct tape up a large cut in his neck to get him to hospital.
The second was much nastier. A club member used to work for the railways and used his trailbike to check the tracks for maintenance. Some idiot had strung piano wire accross the tracks at head height. He was very lucky he was riding slowly and had some experienced first aide people with him. He survived but never worked again. Both these happened before there was mobile phones/air ambulances etc.

The road this was on was a wider than normal suburban street complete with speed humps. I very much doubt the riders would be "hooning" along there at any time. This was obviously a very well planned attack as the road is also used a through road between two major roads going into the city and many cars, buses etc use the road.Quote:

Couple of years ago near here someone stole a farm gate - and thoughtfully strung a single wire across it to stop the stock wandering. It was found by the farmer's wife on a motorbike - she thought the gate was open. Fortunately it was not at head height, broken arm and cuts and bruises.
It seems there is a good market for 'antique' farm gates.
If I can find you a photo of it, the Aslav has a wire cutter fitted infront of the driver and crewies hole... among other things Its there to cut TOW type missile guidence wires that get left strung up after the TOW has been fired.
this stuff is really thin, smaller than most piano wires, and causes plenty of harm if hit as speed... and you can barely see it when your walking let alone driving cross country at 100 odd kph
