I think that there are some S owners here.

They've got an Aussie forum and there a few owners who have the coil sprung model.
Hi all I am looking at buying a new D3 S model with coils.
Has any one got one and any thing to look out for with
them?

Hi bigmac, curious as to why you specifically want coils.
Cheers
The coil version drags it's exhaust on the ground all too frequently. One of the US LR3 owners has fitted King Springs to lift it up to fix the low ride height.
Aussie 4WD mags also have commented that the coiler version is not as good as the air sprung version. Not enough articulation and too low.
If you get an S option it with air suspension and the rear locker otherwise you will need to fit raised springs for reasonable ground clearance however is ground clearance is not a requirement leave it alone. BTW you cannot get the rear locker if you don't have air suspension.
My 2 cents.

Hi drivesafe the reason for coils is the almighty $$$$$

I wonder how much the option is for air?

Hi again bigmac, it may be hard financially but if you can afford the extra expense, it is well and truly worth the cost.
The vehicle rides much better on road and has far better agility off road.
Cheers.
I didn't ask about the air option yet thought i would find out about the coils as I have not heard anything about them.
PCH ANY IDEA ON THE AIR OPTION COST?
or would it be better getting the SE

From memory, a S TDV6 with the air, TR and rear locker comes in at just over $70,000

EAS (which comes with TR) is $3,450rrp
Rear Locking Diff is $1,000rrp
So basically, for an extra $4,500 you can get a better handling and better off-road car.
Personally, after driving an air sprung vehicle over corrugated roads, I'd never go back to coils.
But, as you say, I suppose it all comes down to dollars. Ah, but that's why God gave us credit cards!
