And next time you are out in the big bush with a flat battery, or a failure of a three cent component in the vehicle management computer, think about how you are going to start the beast, or how far is the walk back to Boulia or Jundah. My County-Isuzu does not need electricity to start or run, just as long as you can pull, push, or roll it to start. I am fed up with electrical/electronic failures in modern vehicles. That is why I maintain that a true bush vehicle should be sans electronics.Quote:

But the Disco 1 is a top rig all round, built on a classic rangie, good engine with the TDi, and with a set of good muddies will go a helluva lot of places.
Mind you i wouldny say no to Slunnies truck.
101fc would eat a d3 for breakfast!
serg
Series 111 one ton with the 101fc a close second.
Wish I had the $$ to buy and import one. :(
My vote goes for the Series IIA Military version, easily repaired, good engine, gear & transfer case. Body panels easily replaced (if you can fine new ones).
.......and I can put the hose in it to clean it out :D
does anyone else think its funny the best LR is always covered with mud--
on the inside?
oh,, I see.
its from attaching straps to bogged Toyomotors:D
oh,
and the D1.
if best can be described as most important,
then the D1 saved LR's bacon.
Best unmodified out of the showroom: Pre '86 110 County 4BD1 LT95, the last of the 'real rovers'.
