    Cams

Has anyone heard of CAMS in relation to LRA, rather than motor sport? The Fender’s up for the 80K service and I wasn’t intending to take it to the stealer, due to their exorbitant prices. However I noted a minor leak from the transfer case and decided to put it to the test.

Warranty expired last July but took it to the stealer who has serviced it since new and put the word on them about trying it on with LRA. They had a look and also found a leak at the tappet cover and the coolant reservoir (probably merely a new cap there).

Their response was … Yep, should be right under LRA’s cams policy … (out of time but relatively low k’s).

This being the case I reckon the few extra hundreds they will charge is small change against the option of picking up the freight to have someone else drop the t/case etc.

    I’ll keep you posted.

    Cheers

    CAM is Customer Assistance Matrix.

It is used by dealers to grant goodwill warranty to vehicles that qualify.
If your car has had all the services done by a LR dealer & the owner purchased the car new or inside the warranty period, then the dealer can use their discretion & implement CAM if they wish.
It is designed to help the customer who has a repair issue just outside the warranty period & isn't supposed to be used for minor repairs.
Some items aren't covered under CAM (Batteries for example).

There, does that answer your question ?

Sure does ..... . Seems my decision to have them undertake all services in case of an incident such as this has paid off.

Yeah but the money you could have saved not having it serviced at land rover could have bought you another land rover.

    Now now Matt .
Be nice to the struggling LR dealerships .

It's the customers who pay me enough to keep my RR on the road .
