No mate i used 100mm box, it's an alternitive design of Slunnies rear bar, i changed most of his design to suit me, i didn't want an excact copy, the only thing the same is the 100mm box i used.Quote:

Not relevanht to a D2 rear bar but this is what I made with my old dunga CIG 120 amp stick welder for my Rangie. I cut the guards back a bit so I would still get the angled Rangie rear qtr panel look but high and out of harms way. Gives you confidence when you are off-road that you won't bend panels and the bar will take the abuse that I give it. I used 75x100x3mm section and 35x35x3 box section for the sides. Supports were made from 25x25x3mm box section for the sides.

Tell you know that my welding did dramatrically improve during the fabrication of it :) :twisted: . Still not perfect, but nothing that a good paint can hide.
Want a MIG but decent ones are well into the $1000-1200 mark from what I have been looking at. Seen the cheaper SIP ones but rather spend a bit more on a good one than a cheaper one I would be dissapointed in later down the track.
By the way, bar looking good. Practice makes perfect I have figured out with welding in particular :cool:

CIG 135amp Portaweld MIG, complete with brush, hammer, mask and 1 roll of gasless wire for $700 from Bunnings.
They're about $650 in Brisbane for the same model at Bunnings. I can't haggle there, plus the 170 amp model is only $120 dearer from what I have seen.Quote:
