Hey Gavo .. the 3.9 Isuzu is very popular amongst Rover enthusiats and there always seems to be a demand for them. I've heard of some going for as high as 15K. Perhaps a few pics will assist us in recommending a sell price ....
I Have had it for about 18 months.
I have recently been diagnosed with a back condition and I am thinking of selling it and getting something a little softer.
I need help with a price to sell it for.
270000 km
9 seats
Rear maxi drive
Front Mc Namara diff and maxi drive axles
2 batteries ( marine isolator)
Sahara sand paint.
Twin fuel tanks (about 1100 km range).
I have just done the window channel in all the doors.
and reasonably good condition.
I have never seen one a straight as mine.
Not sure if a want to sell it yet but if someone made me a good offer I would probably take it.

I understand the motor is slightly different to later County ones.
Certainly V8 Stage 1's are struggling to get $3-3,500 even in good nick.
I guess you would add another $1500 or maybe more for the Diesel, so I think the $5,000 is fairly accurate.
Personally i would put it online for $6,000 you can always drop the price.
I looked at this 3.9d County the other day, but it had 456,000 klm.
Then again, swapping your donk over ( if the one in this dies) then the comfort level goes up doesn't it?

I looked at quite a number of County-Isuzus over nearly eighteen months whilst looking for mine. All sold quickly. Four sold before I got to look at them. The sellers all said they had enquiries from all over Oz. Asking prices ranged from $6000, to $12000 ( absolutely immaculate, bought in Toowoomba by a Victorian on behalf of a Canadian, to whose country It was shipped immediately). Most were in the $9000-$10000 range. K's travelled from 230000 to 480000. Does this help? Maybe a bit less for a Series?

Have you considered getting parabolic springs? I have no experience but comments have suggested that the ride is getting close to coil springs. Cost would be small compared to changing to a softer sprung vehicle such as a Defender. And at least you know what is wrong with the one you have!Originally Posted by Gavo

I was going to suggest the same thing John, why not explore these options first then sell it if need be. If you fitted parabolics you could sell it for the cost of the parabolics added on if it didnt work, you wouldnt loose much, might even bump the price up a tad. I reckon 5-6k is a fair asking price though. Matt

the 3.9 lump is too heavy for any sets of parabolics i have come across...
motor just ticks away lovely....
it is a nice honest truck from what i have seen of it and i think $6k would be on the money.

maybe a pain to install, but certainly cheaper than changing vehicles - particularly if you are happy with what you've got!
