Make sure you check out the sandy cape, definetly my favourite spot on the beach, There is a beach camping area right on the top of the island, if i had of known i would have spent a few days camped there. Also the western side of the island around awinya creek, we camped north of that, the 3 days we camped not a single vehicle came by, it was awesome, just make sure you cross awinya creek within a few hours of low tide, i noticed it comes up about a foot or so higher at high tide but drops down about 2 hours after high and sits at that level till the tide comes back up.
Eli creek is very nice and not hard to cross, we crossed at high tide without a dramma - we actualy drove from near eurong all the way to orchid beach at high tide, Wyuna creek was the hardest thing to cross at high as there was less beach nearby. Also check out lake birrabeen - it was my favourite lake, similar to lake Mckenzie but with alot less people.
You lucky with your timing apparently this is on of the quietest times of the year.
Are you beach camping or going camp sites?
