    Speed Cameras!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

Hi is it true what someone told me today that if you go through a speed trap and the camera flashes once you will not get fined and that it has to flash twice for a conviction?
I also got flashed by a red light the other night, is that a camera too?
and if the camera works at the cross roads the other day when I ran a red light (only just) I'm skint this month.
So who needs work done to their Land Rover to help the Richard foundation of traffic offences fund.

Red light cameras here in WA flash twice with a one second interval. There is also 4 seconds of amber light before it goes red. Speed the vehicle was travelling at can also be estimated by the short white lines painted on the road surface.

The pad to activate the red light camera is 1 metre in front of the white stop line and only vehicles travelling across the pad will have a photo taken (from the rear) so if you are going across the intersection from where the camera is, or toward it, you are safe

Speed cameras only flash once per vehicle.

    Hi Richard,

Sorry about Wednesday, I was on the phone and didn't realise it was you until you had gone back in.

If the camera flashes .........once.......... you're pinged....... unfortunately, the red is used at night generally. If it was you that was photographed you will get your nasty piece of paper in the mail in around 2 weeks.

    thanks for the info.
I got one flash with day time camera, and one flash with red night camera. on both occasions I was between 5 and 10 ks over limit.

we all know that speed cameras are all about revenue raising and sweet F.A about road safety, so i like to think the following , which i did see once in a Canberra newspaper clipping , is a true story and Big Brother got flipped the Bird by some enterprising young larrikins:

"Four youths from Canberra, Australia pulled off a trick of breathtaking bravado in order to gain revenge on a mobile speed camera van operating in the area.

Three of the group approached the van and distracted the operator's attention by asking a series of questions about how the equipment worked and how many cars the operator could catch in a day. Meanwhile, the fourth musketeer sneaked to the front of the van and unscrewed its numberplate.

After bidding the van operator goodbye, the friends returned home, fixed the number plate to their car and drove through the camera's radar at high speed - 17 times. As a result, the automated billing system issued 17 speeding tickets to itself."

that would just be so sweet.

hey kie4......is your vehicle registered as private.....or under a company name......?
if its under a company name.....there is a chance you may get away without losing any points......
as they cant book the company for driving....they need to know who to book.....
if you dont give them this info........they just demend their money....and forget about taking any points......
