    Middie.........285ml (10oz)

Depends where you are. In Sth Oz schooners are 10oz and a Pint is 15oz.
Now everyone knows that a pint is 20oz, but I suppose you have to allow some latitude.
I drink for taste as well, so drink mainly homebrew which unfortunately the missus likes too. Otherwise any of the great Tassie brews or Coopers product.

Did a course at Emergency Management Institute at Mt Macedon recently and as its Fed. Gov. owned, the booze was tax free, something like $1.20 a stubbie of Boags over the bar, geez I liked that stuff, but cant get it up here .Lucky I was only there for a week, my liver couldnt have taken much more.
Yep, its a great brew, used to drink the premium but since starting up the business have moved sideways onto the Draught and love it, hmm almost time to have one . The St George one is a bit iffy not my cuppa tea. And I hear ya dobbo, swmbo is always a bit more tolerable after a cuppla..........oops speaking of which hear she comes " I was only joking honey "

    Regards

If I want a beer, it's always too dear
Now a 7oz glass is fine
At the bowls club if your 89
    And these things called pots
    Well, they're just glorified shots
And while a schooner holds a bit more
It's still not big enough for my claw
So if I'm having just one, or getting fully tanked
I only drink pints - of the black stuff thanks

Pot of draught $3.20 at my local. I dont care what it costs. I'm not married. I have no children. I drink when I'm thirsty, which is most of the time.
    Cheers

OK then tell me how come a stubbie fills a schooner glass

Does this mean that we are getting ripped off at the pub and the old 15oz schooner is now 375ml and 12oz

How the hell do they get away with selling 15 oz as a pint? By the fact that young bloke have no idea that a pint is 20 oz or by using US measures where 16 oz is a pint?

Fair Trading should jump on that.

Until about 1970, Queensland had :- small beer,5oz.- beer 8oz public bar, 7oz saloon bar- pot 11oz.

Small beers were popular in the tropics and outback where a glass or a pot could be room temperature before finished, and also with guys who customarily went in for very long sessions. A lot of the smaller outback pubs no longer sell draught beer, just stubbies over the counter.

Glass sizes were regulated by law, but were never, to this day, required to have a Plimsoll line as in Germany. Some clubs and outside caterers ( sports grounds, racecourses etc.) used (rarely) 6oz. & 9oz. glasses. I regret never having collected one of each to have a line-up behind my bar of 5-6-7-8-9-10-11oz. glasses.

    Thanks for the chart Pedro.

I recall in Tas they also have a 'pony', but I may be wrong.

NSW schooner (full strength) at the local is $3.90.

Pedro, what sort of beer is a Grange?

And mate it's so old (67), geez..... Drink fresh and give the old stuff away (to me). LOL
