    true story

    Apparently a true story.....

Bono is at a U2 concert in Dublin when he asks
the audience for some quiet. Then in the silence,
he starts to slowly clap his hands.
    He says into the microphone...
"Every time I clap my hands, a child in Africa dies."

A voice from near the front pierces the silence...
    "Well, stop fooking clapping then."

Very funny, but what did Bono say to that?

If more people bought Land Rovers, then Land Rover would be able to afford even greater foreign aid / humanitarian type projects in Africa and fewer people would die. I think we should raise national awareness and make it a goal for every family in the western world to own at least one Land Rover by 2008. As a flow on effect, traded in Defenders in subsequent years can be put out to pasture in Africa, where they will continue to help mankind into their twilight years.

    Think global, act local.

Maybe Bono would like to raise public awareness.

now I must go back to putting some spin on the political speech I was ghost writing....
