    Thumbs up

What about Bunya parkland along Old Northern Road Mcdowall, heaps of space for kids (small & large) and parking, it has a few BBQ's.

Some damn good ideas there. My favourites are the Botanical Gardens up near Mt Cootha or Nudgee Beach

.. and in answer to your question Pedro_The_Swift, I'm sure we could find room to park 20+ land rovers at Mum's place - though I'm not so sure there'd be much yard left by the time we'd finished

Colmslie park is a very good idea.

It's on the Brisbane river, has BBQs, big playground (incl flying fox thing), shelters, heaps of parking, close to Gateway for those coming in from north and Gold Coast. A bit of a beach on the river. Brisbane Range Rover club go there I think. Colmslie fish markets next door for those wanting some seafood.

Its also about 15 min drive from my place.
