The give away from a D110 to a series...

Ah, yes, Blknight, you did say something about not mentioning people's inability to tell one slab-sided LR from the next.

My main point, elequently and definitively taken up by JDNSW, is that "County" isn't a model, even here in Oz. It's a spec level, the same as "Xtreme" is. The model names are OneTen (or 110 if you prefer) and Defender, though, as Joe Off-Road Landie Driver knows, they are really the same model, with a name change.

And pay no attention to what I say I drive.

Can we mention the Game which was a series III but different trim levels and blatently obvious different paint scheme.
Also didn't the series I originally have a 1600cc motor?

The Game was and optioned up swb Series 3. Other ones deserving a mention are the One Ton (Series IIA and III) and the Series IIA 109 FC and the Series IIB 110 FC.

The Series One was originally 1600cc and continued at this until 1952 when engine capacity was increased to 2000cc. The diesel engine of the same capacity was introduced in 1957, the wheelbase having been increased by two inches to accommodate it the previous year. Note that there was also a small batch of 81" Landrovers built in 1949 with 2.8 litre Rolls Royce engines for the UK military.

Ok so I need a new approach....

If you can give me the short version of the name ie a IIa is a series two a Landrover, a brief description of what sets it apart, the years it was made, preferabley a pic I will find a place to put it in the list.

No, individual mods do not count... It must have rolled off the floor in base trim, and you must be able to Identify the difference without opening the doors. This now sets the countys and defenders apart but not the extreme... why

So far as i remeber... Countys had leafs and were the direct descendant to the stage ones the deefers had coils... The main difference between a deefer and an Extreme is the decals, ABS and traction control...(no decals do not count)

Also wasn't the Extreme an Australia only thing and basically the equivalent of the County (i.e. with all the electric bits) sold in the UK
