The interior light would come on at random and the radio would change stations. Fixing the ABS fault fixed those problems as well!

FIIC.
Thanks for the PM Drivesafe.
I'll have a look around http://rangerovers.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=2
like you suggested.
There must be something about these cars if you'd still buy another one even after all the issues you had with it.
Hi spudboy, I think, in my case, the way both LRA and my dealer, Bruce Lynton’s, have handled the problems is probably the main reasons I would not hesitate to buy a new one ( if pennies permit, I would love to get a TDV8 RR when they arrive late next year )
I have had absolutely no cause for complaints of any kind with both the response from LR regarding replacing parts under warranty or the fantastic service from Bruce Lynton’s.
I bought a new D2 from Austral in Brisbane, and altho LRA did everything in their power to get problems solved with the D2, Austral was of the opinion “ They had my money, why both doing anything else “ and they NEVER did.
Spudboy, if you are looking at a 2003 RR, check to see if it has the extended warranty.
Cheers
Hmm, have a look at this.

Wow, that's one hell of a bad experience in anybody's mind. I'm kinda surprised that he didn't hire a lawyer to make them fix it!!
Very interesting reading. If one can assume that all that was written there is factual (the story seems entirely plausible:o ) then thank God we are not in France!:DQuote:

The only good point to the whole saga is that he would very happily be driving a new TDV8 Rangie. Proof that the vehicle is really that good (when it is working 100%).
After reading that French saga, I think I'll wait for a few months and see how the new Defender scrubs up.
I saw in a specification sheet that you will be able to get Factory Leather seats (no I'm not kidding - see here: http://www.aulro.com/afvb/showthread.php't=31853) so who knows what other luxuries might turn up.
Miles away from a Range Rover I know, but it might be better to have a basic brand new car, than a complicated 4 year old car. If the Defender is way too basic then maybe a newish D3 diesel.
Thanks for all the feedback.
