Deloraine is a fantastic little town. about 30 minutes drive from launnie, and is between launnie and devenport. It's a beautifull area, cold in winter, but show me a part of tassie that isn't.

Fishing wise, tasmania is hard to be beat. Deloraine isn't very far from the great lakes. Look it up, it's trout heaven. Coldest place in the state is on the great lakes (liawenie), but the fishing is very hard to beat. For mroe fishing info, check the government fishing website http://www.fishonline.tas.gov.au/

Have you got the title reference or address for me to look the place up? (I do some conveyancing, so I have access to a few toys )

It is a beaut area, very green etc etc. The only thing is its a small town far from everything (far in terms of Tassie travel that is). I dont know if you plan to move there or not, but bear in mind that distances here may not seem long in comparison to mainland, but you will get used to Tassie travel times, and anything longer than 20min travels requires and overnight stay lol (just kidding - but you know what I mean)

Make sure you get someone you trust to physically eyeball the place before shelling out. We looked at properties online in Tassie before we moved there and some of them were a lot better on the screen than in real life!

The real estate agents "clean up" a lot of photos that they put online. I know when we bought our place, we looked at their photo, and they had removed the flaking paint, the powerlines and a couple of other things from the photos of the exterior.

Be aware in the Winter miserably cold over night and a morning around 0-3 deg one of the coldest foggiest places in the state.

Colder than a Toyota drivers kiss

I dunno, launceston would have to take the cake as the foggiest

As for cold, in winder as low as -5 isn't unusual, although this year has been a very warm winter. Anyway, cold is what heaters were invented for

    Hi,
We drove through there on the way to Cradle mountain from Launceston, looked like a nice small town, dont konw what it would be like to live there but the Meat pies from the bakery were a bloddy ripper.

    You're not joking there.
We stayed at the caravan park at Crayfish Creek & met a couple there who lived at Devonport.
They only visited Crayfish Creek a few times per year & didn't like towing their single axle caravan all that way (103km according to whereis).
They thought 100km was a massive trip, so much so that they'd rather pay $4000/year & leave their van on site.

    FFS, 100km !!
I used to ride my bike more than that in one day when I was a kid.

    Back on topic though...
Deloraine is a nice part of Tassie.
    Scott
