When does the 07 Defender come out??

Hey All,

I have read mixed information as to when the new 07 Fender will be available in Oz. Does anyone know?? Main reason being as many of you know I have the D3 on the market, for reasons already explained ie nothing to do with the beasty as I llloooovvvveeee it. I could still well end up keeping it dependant on a) SWMBO

and b) how my new start up business goes.

That said, if I do sell it, most likely looking at New Year now, I would be pretty keen on the new Fender for a couple of reasons. I love the Fender, the updated version in my minds eye has a dash of the creature comforts to be found in a Disco, and it has 7 seats, so for me a good all round combo. So any info would be greatly appreciated.

Why don't you put in an 'advance' order and see what the reply is? Stevo....

Nothing concrete, but late next year is looking likely for release in europe, so who knows when here. I'd go with quiggers idea, might get you the info as soon as it's released then.

Thanks phoenix, hey stevo, work out an 'advance' enquiry order for TEN of them and see what happens.

Keep one, supply and finance the other nine for we AULRO crew.......?

That'll stir em up.

I'd ALMOST go for one, make a good replacement for my Disco (diesel auto please).

im interested too, finance and new defender, i heard febuary for europe so guess august for down under.

Thanks for the responses, and yes might do that re: advance order with the local dealer and see what they come back with. Now in terms of ordering 10, hmmmm, no problems with that

, even moreson no problems with organising the finance for them as well ( at mates/AULRO rates of course) but will require a $5 k deposit each

to secure the deal

According to the October issue of Overlander, the 2007 Defender will be shown at the '07 Melbourne International Motor Show (2-12 March 2007) and will "go on sale here in the second quarter of the year" (that would be April).

Now, that reads "go on sale" which is very different to the likely delivery date. Who knows when they will actually hit the streets. In any case, I am going to give them 12 months to sort out the bugs before I order mine.

Thing is we don't know pricing yet either. You might find that you don't get much cash positive out of selling the D3 and buying a new fender as you might hope.

I really feel your pain.

It will be interesting to see if they push the pricing up or leave it as is. I can't see that they could go much higher.

August/September is what we have been told, Not a huge price increase 5-8% depending on what model u order.. Only a 6 spd manual available..
