Going by the firewall and the windscreen hinges I can say that it is a late 2a, and it would have had a galv wire grille, full width, and if it is a 2.6 litre 6 the grille would have been made up with round horizontal bars, the 4's had the checkered grille, that was the easiest way for landrover staff to identify them at a distance, the late 2a was only around for about 14 months and the 6 was not common, as the were dearer and thirstier, the main problem was that they would burn exhaust valves if they were not adjusted correctly, they would have also have had 3" wide front brake shoes, as all 6cyl vehicles did, right through until the front disc braked 110:) they would possibly had the Syncro gearbox, they have a fairly straight gearlever, if it has a cranked one then it is non-syncro on 1&2 and syncro on 3&4 it would have a metal dash with flick switches, and the central horn button, with the blinker switch on the steering column it would also have a single line boosted brake system, hope that helps you identify it :)
