I think we will be staying around the border area near Davies High Plain and the Murray River and explore Nth east of Swift Creek, that part of the High Country, it may improve hopefully.

We are currently assembling crews to head down to Vic if things continue to deteriorate, apparently Sat/Sun are forecast to be particularly bad on the weather front.

Bentleys Plains is a nice place for a camp and if you are lucky you may find one of the huts empty. Moscow Villa is well worth staying in Big fireplace, seats, table, even old bed bases.

We are heading towards Buchan but Moscow Villa may be a bit close to the fires and want to avoid going too close to them, we will be playing by ear and adjusting plans as we go.

    Thanks for the tip.

    Vic fires

Its been pretty busy down here (alpine national park foot hills avon wilderness) at the moment mainly with prevention works fire breaks, pre burning etc. can't buy a fire pump or fire hose for love nor money luckily we're all ready set up.
predictions are that fires could reach the gippsland lakes sunday or monday (worst case) much much bigger than the 2003 fires!
    but here's hoping
