to shake or not to shake

For both blokes and sheilas, go the big hug, saying "Only strangers shake hands". Works for me...:D

I have been in business in for 15 years and I always offer a hand shake. I find most women respect that and the few that don't get over it. I have the same policy for all. Men and women that way you can't go wrong.

In this age of political correctness you knows what's right and what's wrong. There seems to be a new school of thinking on everthing every five minutes.

'spose with EEO coming to the forefront in most industries ya shake hands, i've just finished a stint up north where 40% were female employees & half of them had a hand shake grip that put a few blokes to shame & their work ethics were a lot better too.

These days the gender is quite immaterial, the boss, peers and subordinates are all employees and humans. :o To allocate pleasantries on the basis of gender is just too un-P.C for me!:mad: So yes, humans get handshakes in Ralphs world.:)

But.....


They are auditors, so give them nothing, make them work for every bit of info they can squeeze out of you, make it known they are unwelcome and likely to cause schedule slippage and therefore profit targets, which you will be journal transferring to their department. Above all, do not encourage them nor speak to them unless spoken to, then insist they use your official title or surname.
In this context, no handshake is necessary, they do not expect one!:p :p :p :p :p

Well most auditors would have expected a kiss, probablly a Liverpool Kiss.

I think a hand shake should be offered regardless of sex as it indicates you have no bias and lack of respect.
