did any of you see the storm damage through Cooroy and other parts on Saturday night?
Had a mates 40th birthday bash to attend in Nambour so a quick trip south (after work) was attempted. I thought it was a bit dark for 4pm,, but maybe it was only the hail making it a bit hard to see as we left Maryborough--
Then the rains came,, and came,, and the first little cars started to pull over with their little blinkers flashing,, Tiaro looked like a cyclone had gone through, sheet roofing and trees uprooted all over, and more little flashing cars everywhere-- oh,, have I mentioned the rain?
anyway things were going along nicely till around pomona when Mother had a second lash,, trees falling, powerlines flashing, little flashing cars appearing now ON the road just, well, stopped. on the road. amazing. Have I mentioned the wind?
lots of it about,, aparently, but BUB002 never moved an inch, I think ACE works on wind gusts. so through the rivers over the trees around the power lines past ALL the little and now not so little flashing lights to Nambour,,
First thing the mate says as we sipped a coldie overlooking the tree in his pool,
"how was the trip?"
Mrs Pedro pipes up
"dunno,, slept through most of it"

I drove through Cooroy this morning after picking my Waeco CF-80 up from it's warranty repair. There were trees blown over everywhere. The ones still standing had plenty of limb damage. We Brisbanites got drizzle all weekend but no rain.
I was surprised to see no cars or houses with any tree damage. Just fences. However seeing the paper when I got to work showed me that there was at least one house with a tree on (or in) it.
yeh, I sweltered all day and watch it build up, thinking, finally we will get some, then watched it go overhead without a drop, but still annoy me with a light show to the east for the next four hours, I'd happily lose the roof for some of those falls on the coast, I got insurance.Originally Posted by Pedro_The_Swift

RAIN? wot is rain? Wind I understand, comes straight up from the South Pole, across Lake Alexandria (SA) and in my dunny door. At least it would if it had a door. But rain, no we don't yet any of that in SA's Mallee country. Heard an old timer say he saw it once.
No injuries I hope?
Stay safe
shorty.
Driving a Landy in extreem weather is very satisfying. I did similar last year. A friend working one of the local quaries told us later that they had to shelter under the machines as they couldn't make it to the office.
At this point i dont care how the rain comes, as long as it come, sounds like you had fun though pedro.![]()
