A few of you would remember my Freelander woes, Oh well, all fixed, the little sucker has gone.I looked at Defenders TD5 S11 Disco V8, Rangies P38 and then Incisor suggested the S1 V8 or TDI,
Well I found a absolutle cracker and she is in A! condition
S1 97 V8 Disco SE Auto, with all the clobber with only 123,000Klms.Been exceedingly well looked after all Land Rover service and every 5000klms been serviced.
Been driving around the past week and am amazed at the economy of it.Im getting about 560 to 570 ks from a tank at normal hwy speed with the air on.My TD5 Disco gives me about 830 to 850 per tank, so am very pleased with the V8's performance, plus they sound great as well.
Will say the two are very much different vehicles in ride comfort and performance. The TD5 would certainly give the V8 a run for its money in a quarter mile.

Gee, that got the opinions flying,Well I put it up last night and the TD5 flogged the V8.It wasnt my driving either or my predjuice towardsthe TD5.I also had the power button on, and had just had the TD5 chipped, 3 months ago, on good advice from all of AULRO.
To answer Dave B, yeah the car was local last 12 months originally from Nthn NSW, Lismore I think.I rang owner who now lives in Brisbane and He never took it near the bush or the beach.Towed a 24 ft Jayco Van for Holidays up and down the east coast.
