Used RR Vogue Prices

Is it just me or does there seem to be a huge price jump in prices of used RRs when you go from the last of the P38As (ignoring those asking for ridiculously high prices on them) to the first of the RR Vogues?

Eg you cannot find an RR Vogue under $50k ... yet most P38As peak around the mid to high $30k's .

Same with any new model vs the outgoing one, same jump from a D2 to D3. That said, i'd buy the current model rangie, but probably not a P38a

IT would be nice to se one of them off road, Drivesafe is the only person that I know who has used theirs off road. Could make overlander forum trips interesting

There was a nice white one for abotu $50k down here recently, would have been very nice!!

Any 'current body shape' vehicle commands a premium price as compared with older shapes. Just the way it is.

Anyone (well most) who have had LR's in the past will stray but 'boomerang' back to a real 4WD and realise that LR ownership is still much better than anything else. Yes, Toyotas, Nissans, etc.. may be more reliable but they are dull, boring bland-mobiles like a McDonald's hamburger. But in reality the Jap 4WD set isn't much more reliable, just not made public and kept 'hidden' so to speak. It's hard to stuff up when you copy the innovators of 4WD technology

Also, stop listening to those twits on the Overlander forum

and feel right at home here.

I know most ppl here dont like the P38 and I have only had mine for 2 months (touch wood)..lol but I have to say I absolutely love this vehicle. I have been out 4 times 4wd with it and it craps all over the 2 land crusiers my friends have. Its fantastic to drive both off road and onroad, I payed what I consider bugger all for it, 2000 model one owner 120K on clock. It has all the features plus things I didnt expect. I guess time will tell whether my attitude to it will change but the only thing that counts is that I enjoy driving it.

On another note I do wave to Disco driver's and u buggers never wave back..LOL

P38's I have found are a bit of a 'lottery'. You either get a good one of an absolute POS

My old man's 98 4.0 Rangie has been pretty good. Dad bought it in Spt 04 with 160K on the clockfor $21K. Total spenditure on repairs have been around the $5K mark which includes the entire EAS rebuild and the HVAC unit which leaked and at around $2.5K for total fitment and replacement.

There's some shockers out there but also some real gems. The later 2000 model or 'XA' series are the better buys and that's what I would own if I decided to get a P38 Rangie
