define summer....
if you mean constant 35+ degrees and 90+% humidity then no...
if you mean max of 25 degrees like ol' blighty then no...
much better to have variety IMHO than boring monotony - it can be 40 degrees with 5% humidity and then 20 degrees and hailing 30 minutes later... then clear sunshine again to end the day. Much more interesting than having to choose between the same old stubbies, "wife beaters" and thongs everyday of the year!
No,
Melb does not have summer:mad:
It does have four seasons though,
Autumn
Winter,
Spring, and
Fire.:p
(apologies and commiserations to anyone affected by said fires)
I have lived in Melb (there does not seem to be any other bit of Victoria) for the last few seasons and they always seem to launch straight into Fire season as soon as it gets warm, dunno what makes 'em tick.
Holidaying in Rockhampton QLD at moment, lovely.......

wtf? never heard of the high country? It's all black now (that fire thing again) but still renowned as one of the best places in the country to go for a drive/fish/campQuote:

Have been there since Noah was a cabin boy, don't look like blowing out yet. If you don't like cold and wet, don't go south.
BTW, did it actually snow, like the Met boys predicted? Was blowing a gale, rain at 45 degree angle, the lot, here on the lower Murray, on Christmas day.

Shorty.
didn't snow in Melbourne. Plenty of hail etc. Snowed in the high country though.
Good one. That was the forcast.

I've lived in Brissy most of my 33yrs and have never seen it this cold in the middle of summer. All these gas-guzzling greenhouse gas producing 4WD people have some answering to do.
:oops2:
Not unusual for Tassie though NM. It's always snowing down there. ;) :D :D
