Supercheap Disco (LR Disease has set in)

Saw a 300tdi on ebay go for $2800

inlaws recently paid $9k (install and labor)for a full rebuild on there 300tdi (96 ES), injecters, pump etc..
I'm thinking of buying it for $10k (not just the motor, the whole car):D

And that pretty much shows why the supercheap purchase price is going to be a tiny fraction of the total cost of ownership.:D

The thing working in your favour is that no one else could be bothered either so it will sit there. The engine is an easy fix, its the rust i would be worried about. Is it only where you have seen that it exists or is there alot more hiding in places you cant see? I wouldnt be paying more than 2k, 3k if you are really keen. Matt
