Just under two hours to go here. :-)

2006 has been good for me. I got my first 4WD and it is a Land Rover as well. So I can't complain. :-)

    G'day Folks

I too am the only one up, even the dogs have gone to bed, but the Management wants me to wake her before the Fireworks from Sydney, also the daughter always rings at midnight and if we take the phone off the hook she will ring the mobiles or come over and start hammering on the B** door but that is the ??? side of having a Winnie -the -Pooh freak 30+ 5year old

well channel 10 has just changed over to Sydney.

Hope you all had a good one!

06 wasn't too bad for me with the birth of a healthy son. Unfortunately it stopped me going anywhere But next year we'll make up for it Also we lost our much loved Golden in February too... probably a bit before his time

    G'day.
06 was no better or worse than any other for us. Had its ups and downs.
Wifes health dodgy, mine excellent, Dog good and my 15 year old Lorikeet
still loves me. The little bag wont let me go anywhere without her, so trips
    away take some planning.
Done a total rebuild of the Disco engine, including, clutch, air con, altenator, tint, BFG's and washed it ! Spent 8 grand.
Bought a 24 year old Cabana caravan that I am restoring. Betty needs
it now when we plan to travel, also, she occasionally needs to spend time in Townsville Base, so with the van, me an the chook will be set up real good.
The 14 year old Disco hooked up to a 24 year old caravan is a glorious sight !
When I bush bash I travel alone, except for the bird now. I want to do another trip thru an area of the Simpson ( no tracks ) that I havent explored yet, hence the need for a Defender.
Better still, I dont think that I will ever have to go near a major city again,
ever. Oh joy ! Cept maybe Darwin. Last time I went to the city, was in
Brissy 96, Sydney 90, Melbourne 85. Gawd it was horrible.
Needless to say, my cup is never less than half full and if you can hear the laughter and the music from the little people at the bottom of the garden, why complain about it, eh.
    Cheers and many Happies.

I finally had a great new year, Got to spend it with my girlfriend (HA HA peter ) only problem was SWMBO fell asleep and kicked me outta my seat plus both siblings were crashed on the other two armchairs so i was stuck on the floor) but all in all spending 27 hours with the one you love, when you can barely see her is GREAT. anyway long story short I'm officially getting sick of BBQs 10 in a week is a bit much,

I just hope this year is better than last year, wont bore everyone with the details but i am hoping things turn around and i will actually have the cash to get out and do some serious 4wding trips. Matt
