The people I'm taking will have a navara and a Turbo Territory. I can't wait to see the rooster tails of sand behind the territory. If it digs in I think we're going to need to drop them a ladder LOL

mate ,you should have no probs as long as you aint towing a HEAVY trailer, twas my downfall for being over prepared and to answer your question Vlad, yes it cost me just under $1000 with the three of us doing the work,350 for the tow down to Eurong and the rest for the clutch and freight via air fraser from hervey bay via repco (rip every poor customer off)so yes it was expensive ,would hate to think what they would have charged to fit it as well, however the guy that did the tow organized evrything and provided the workspace and a few tools that we didnt have,so if anyone is in need whilst on the island i can reccomend Greg from "Five Rats Towing" at Eurong, although not cheep(nuthing is on Fraser) he is helpful

I dropped my tyre pressures to 20 psi before even getting on the island and never even looked like getting stuck. I helped one rental Defender out by letting his tyres down (36 psi isn't really appropriate for sand driving). I don't think you will have any trouble at all. I rarely locked the centre diff, only if the section looked really soft and chopped up.

20psi is fine 99% of the time, when it is dry and powdery you sometimes have to go down to 16psi.

I went the week after the rain and there were a few showers while we were there. Not much dry and powdery to see. It was a revelation to see white sand instead of the red stuff we are used to here!

We were up at Orchid (96 Burgundy Disco TDI) from 16-23 dec there were cars getting stuck at Indian & Champs Pools all over the place, they were saying at the Trading store its been the dryest on the beach for nearly 30yrs (no rain) and Diesel was $1.84lt it hurt abit not taking jerrys and doing 974ks on the Island, but after all the weed/jellyfish/not fishing as much as liked we all had a bl@@y good time, after all the drama's aside.
