A-arm knock
The issue of A-arm has been covered before I know but mine seems a bit weird. I've crawled under the car to look for the cause of the graunching sort of clunk that it gets on acceleration & deceleration in low gear. The bushes in the A-arm just don't seem right to me, it's as if the brackets are welded onto the chassis at the wrong angle and the bushes are cockeyed. Is this normal
Looks like a $hit of a job to reassemble! There's a definite wear mark where the arm is contacting the bracket.
Also, when I had the CD locked on the weekend there was a pronounced deep clunk from the rear over ruts & whatnot, where it would get small amounts of wind up then release, which sounded to me like the ball joint but LR are new to me so I can't be sure. With the CD unlocked the backlash takes it up & it's not noticeable at all.
So I think I may be up for both but, again, I'm concerned about the geometry of the arm/brackets.
