todays WA 'gathering' a few pics

    Hi All

Just a few pics from todays "gathering" as it wasn't on the "trips" section

Started at the pines and tried the hill climbs.
Went through the pines up to moore river area and tried a few of the climbs there and crossed the raging torrent a couple of times. Went from Moore river down the coast to sea bird? or where ever it was I get confused easily. Either way the servo there had a rubbish air line. On the way along the coast we went along the tracks behind the beach, on one hill I made about four attempts and had to air down twice. I don't know if I was just being lazy not airing down straight away or I just didn't want to roll a tyre. I'll choose the latter.

It would have been nice to drive down the actual river but I think the greenies might not like that sort of thing and I don't think 'tread lightly' means a river is an established track?

Had an enjoyable day all in all and it's a good round-ish trip.

    WA Trip.

    Hi Steve.
May have been you I heard on the radio on Monday arvo as I was at Seabird scoffing fish and chips and could hear chat between various cars.
Didn't know that anyone had a trip planned or I'd have been in it as well cos we were looking for something to do.
I must keep a better eye on the website in the future.

    Hi Andy
Your right the river is around gilderton but don't ask where me and geography just don't work out well.

The sandhills are near the powerline track that runs through Gnangara pine forest. I'm sure others can put me right but I think the quickest way to the hill climbs are to follow the large power lines from the t-junction of gnangara road and beechborough road. I'm sure there's lots of ways to get there but that's the only way I know for sure.

There are detailed directions in the 4wd days from Perth magazine.

You can only see 4 tracks up the hills in the pics but there are 5, one just off to the far right. If you have a look in the pic below you can see a cloud of dust off to the right that's '90' making his way up.
The other one is a close up pic of track 5. I think 5 is the easiest?
