Don't worry it will pick the signal up anywhere on the windscreen, the question is will you get charged the car price or a commercial vehicle price for your travelling.
Ok where does everyone put there etoll tag thingys in a defender. Just worried about the screen being flat wiether it will pick it up behind the mirror

I wouldn't worry about where it will work from. I used to have mine behind the rear vision mirror on the windscreen in my Rodeo (their nominated location). However since getting the Discovery I keep it in the centre console box and get it out when needed. So when needed I put it on the dash until it beeps and then it goes back into the console box.
One time I couldn't find it but I was already committed to the e-toll lane so just drove through anyway only to hear a faint beep. I found the unit later down in between the drivers seat and the centre console.
However on the few occaisions it has not beeped for whatever reason I have never heard back about it.
commercial is classed as a dualcab ute as far as i know thats down south
all the yuppies own single cab utes so i think they just get charged for a passenger car which doesnt sound right to me as more tradies use single cab utes
might pay to check the etag or toll company
I don't think we have that problem in Qld. We get charged on the number of axles. Although a car towing a trailer is just the car price and motorcycles are cheaper.Originally Posted by dobbo

Used to work well on my last Defender behind the rear view mirror, no problems.Originally Posted by Reads90
Used to leave mine in the console (Defender) permanently. Never had a problem.
