TOP GEAR & the hamster crash

This turned up in my email, if you're interested:

TOP Gear will return to TV on January 28 — and WILL screen Richard Hammond’s crash.
BBC chiefs have been deliberating for months whether to show the 288mph dragster smash that left presenter Richard — nicknamed The Hamster — close to death.

But last night co-host Jeremy Clarkson, 46, said: “Half the world wants to see the crash so I’m sure we will show it.

“We’re looking into whether we’ve enough footage of good quality. I imagine we’ll be using it in the first show.”

Sun columnist Clarkson said Hammond, who suffered brain damage and amnesia after the September crash, was happy for the footage to be broadcast as he wanted to view it.

Just looked up on SBS just incase anyone is wondering when the show returns for us, Its on the 15th January and this is the show info

07:30 pmTOP GEAR This seven-part series return continues to be a high octane mix of performance cars, adrenalin, comedy and celebrities and test drives and brutally appraises the world's most popular cars with startling honesty. Outrageous stunts, news and reviews and special features such as ‘Celebrity Laps' in which well-known personalities try to outdo each other on the race track make this a car show with a difference. With Jeremy, James and Richard being egged on by a studio audience, the seventh series features even more wild and wacky motoring feats for which the boys have become famous. Actor Trevor Eve takes part in the ‘Star In A Reasonably Priced Car' segment, and Jeremy, James and Richard find new and interesting ways to explore motor vehicles. In tonight's episode, Richard test drives a £235,000 car – the British-made Ascari KZ1. To find out which is the best car, the guys take an Aston Martin V8, a Porsche 911 Carrera S and a new BMW M6 to the Isle of Man and test them on the island's roads. Is Jeremy half cut when he does the studio side of the show? That's the opinion I'm forming

According to the SBS website it is on again from next Monday night.

I hope they show something on the crash. Why wouldn't they? I mean they don't even have to say "don't try this at home kids" because I dunno anyone who has a secret stash of 300MPH rocket cars.

Although I do have some suspicions about a couple of blokes...
