Fraser Island Photos from Nov 06 trip

    Hi Guys,

Just thought that I better post some photos of our Fraser trip back in November 06. Sorry have been pretty slack and still not have had time to do a trip report.

Thanks to vlad, cal, dobbo, stevo68 and slunnie for putting up with all my questions about Fraser before the trip.

    Regards
    Adrian

It was a bit hard to see, but I had quite a audience watching this recovery and luckily the D2 easily popped the Xtrail out. It turned out to be easy, maybe cause I was already facing downhill. Although it may not look like it from the photo the Xtrail was bogged more deeply on the other side.

Yes, its about 70 meters of slowly rising soft sand, and I think what happens is most people don't realize this until they get half way along and then get stuck. Our friend in the xtrail got though 2nd attempt but was doing about 65k plus and only just made it.

On my first attempt which was after I had recovered the xtrail so for good measure I engaged the CDL and lucky I did because I was following a Prado that was not going fast enough and bogged about 50 meters in. I then had to slow and change line and power up again but the D2 did not let me down we powered straight past the bogged Prado.

Did I feel guilty about not stopping to help the Prado just a little, but they weren't with us and besides they were in a Toyota

That's the spirit. Superiority breeds contempt, or some such thing.

Mate a contingent from GCLRO are making the pilgramage between the 23-26th March so hopefully you will still be there, it will be Fraser Part 3, looking at even taking the missus and youngest one this time as they havent been on Fraser part 1 or 2 as of yet. We are currently looking at staying on the other side of the island where the water is flat and one of the lads ie Bolts is looking at bringing his boat so some offshore fishing can be done. Bring it OONNNNNNN

Great! At this point our plan is to be there from the 19th until the 25/26th. We'll be staying on the eastern beach north of the Dundaburra but I'm sure we'll run into you at some point. I'm going with people that are into flying so the beach side is the way to go and we'll be doing lots of swimming with the kids so the proximity to Eli Creek and Champaign pools is important. We are hoping to have a laid back time of things
