It certainly was a good day, there didt seem to be as many people there as last year but there was as many if not more vehicles, 10 thumbs up to LROC for another great show. matt

G'day Folks :)
Great Photos fella's I notice that the guys at the Landrover stand managed to get the bonnet open :) or was it only for selective prospective customers;) how many AULRO members made it on the day??
cheers
no, the opening of the bonnet was for those that chose to have a look before some idiot shut it. the bonnet release cable was not connected to the release mechanism and when it arrived on friday, the bonnet was unlatched and we were told not to shut it.
someone obviously shut it and it was way too hard to open it again.
i noticed it was locked this morning when i went out there to say goodbye to the cars.
I was disappointed with the 07 Defender. Less room - i.e. not enough - in the front compared to the TD5s. The new dash is bulkier, and comes further back. Both my knees were hard up against the dash. Undrivable. It wasn't just me, a few of us were cramped behind the wheel.
There's evidence that the shoehorn was done on the cheap. Handbrake location wasn't fixed, and it seemed to me that the existing steering column shroud carries over. Why that bit of plastic couldn't be made to blend into the new dash I don't know.
As for under the bonnet, well, I thought TD5s were bad for room. This engine is a square peg in a round hole.
Still it was interesting to see first hand a UK spec car. Leather/imitation leather seats, carpet, UK style sunroof, and the silver grilles we don't get. And those UK towbars look a bit undernourished compared to say an ARB bar.
For me, this one is crossed off the list. But the Freelander 2, now that was impressive.

That 101FC looks the goods whats the go with the 3.5TD sticker tho has it got a tojo deso motor in it .....
Its my pick of the bunch thats for sure :D:D:D:D
mitsubishi:eek:
If its a Mazda SLT35 then it should be a rocketship.
In the UK this was the choice of diesel conversions before TDIs were readily available - they used to beat the V8 Rangies for 0-100 and on top end.
But the conversion was expensive.

So who owned the RRS in the AULRO section? It did look tiny parked near Discowhite and Weeds defenders
