MMM, seen many more bodies in car accidents than bikes, I know % is not the same, but even when worked out on a ratio of people to vehicles there are less bike riders killed. Should be way less as the majority are caused by other vehicle drivers rather than bike rider error. Does not bring them back though. I have been riding for 25 odd years now. Have had heaps of stacks on dirt bikes, none on road, but have had a lot of near misses on road bikes all through other vehicle inattention or just plain arrogance. many times have had cars pull out around intersections, cut me off or overtake another vehicle not giving way to oncoming traffic (me). Have ridden with bike lights on for most of that time, well before it was common. Drivers always say "Did not see you". It amazes me how they can not see a bright red bike with headlight on and now sun / glare issues.
Hope all goes well for recovery.

Glad to hear you're OK Mudnut
    Sorry about the BM though

even knowing that they're all trying to kill us doesn't help sometimes.

I still reckon that bike riders make better drivers though ... everyone should have to ride before they are allowed to drive.

Glad to see you came out unscathed!

Same thing happened to me about 15 years ago on my GPZ1000RX. I went over the car and broke my collarbone. The girl who hit me went hysterical and her boyfriend was useless, so I had to calm her down.

It's funny how you know you're going into shock, but there's nothing you can do to stop it.

    G'day Mudnut

My comment about sueing him was ment in the way of, "Failing to give way to vehicle on the Right" is a Traffic Offence in most States and is a Police matter with resulting fines and loss of points, used to be under "Negligent Driving" same as rear ending, "Driving Without Due Care and Attention". So you should get your bike repaired, and any third party claims are covered by the party/s at fault

    cheers
