The New TV ' PAJ advertisement'

Is it just me but on the New Pajero TV advertisement when the Pag is ascending up the boulder strewn hill.... to me it looks like trick photography, have the slanted the picture on a 45 deg angle?
Of are those marble sized rocks glued to the ground?
Those very round looking boulders which don't look like their bases are very embedded into the ground, me thinks if it was real, then gravity would make those round rocks roll down hill

Yeah, the camera sits on a thing called a 'dutch' head.... it's a 'tilter' between the tripod legs and bowl, and the base of, in this case an Arri 535 camera.

It was on TV therefore it must be real. Personally I cannot see the point of all the action packed car ads, just a waste of money. It would be more entertaining running a production class series for 4wd's. It wouldn't happen though, the manufacturers would freak out if they actually had to build a vehicle that performed in a real world scenerio as opposed to using plain old fashioned bovine crap.

A Le mans style race for production standard 4wd's? I'd pay to see that

In that advert, in the downhill section, it appears there is Hill Descent Control as the wheels are seen to lock then start rolling again.

The Paj has traction control and ABS, the TC works on individual wheels similar to the Landy but not as good, doesn't seem to give it the drive like the Rover TC.

One things for sure, after watching Charlie Boormans Dakar attempt and watching how that Scorpian Racing prepared BMW X5 went, that's one car i wouldn't buy, alloy wishbones on a 4WD, are they kidding.

    What a badly prepared car

The dakar Paj and normal one are indentical, right down to the $50,000 rims and tyres

Actually - that show was a great eye-opener as to how much effort, time, people and money goes into a race. They burned $$$$ like it was monopoly money.

The X5 didn't cover itself with glory did it?
