    we got rain yesterday

yes we had some rain yesterday
    4mm
so that make the year to date total 4mm

it's the first rain we/ve seen since nov/dec I think it scared the dog
was still quite warm so went muggy
then dried out quick and 1 hr late had dust again
oh well better than nothing I suppose
at least it washed the dust off the roof

been raining (and hailing) for 30 mins here as well as thunder and lightning. Hope it lasts all night, but i'm not holding my breath. Only 30mm here last month.

it's stopped and blue sky now
there's been heaps of storms in the area in the last few weeks but this is the fisrt one that got us
42mm in just over an hr
wife tells me everythings flooded and powers out
I'm guessing we also lost a few hundred tonnes of topsoil down into the creeks (was no grass to hold it together)
good for the water tanks though

Well, that now makes you about double mine for the year, and about the same as I have had in the last four months. Like you, for the last week thunderstorms all about, but none here. And like you, if it rains like that, the dams will need desilting!

when I got home last night water water everywhere
some logs around the bottom of the hill had 6" of silt washed up against them so I'm guessing we lost a lot of top soil
on a plus the dams have gone up from 20% to 60% (10% of that will be silt )
the water tanks are now 70% (were 15%)

Damage toll (besides top soil loss)
house flooded in front door (water ran back all the way into the lounge )
1 roof leak (should dry out)
couple of trees hit by lightning (no fires, but trees exploded, one old dead (dry) tree is spread over 50+m radius )
land slip (land slide on neighbors hill behind my house)
    lots of eroision

anyway it's wet (for now )

We got a bit, decided to take the old girl out to strech her legs and run the dogs and found a soft spot very long walk home, but got the bloke down the road to help with his 2door D1 v8, Only the second time he's taken it in the dirt.
