I have just placed an order for a water tank which will end up costing - including slab installation the tank, the pump etc about $2000, of which I'll be VERY lucky if I get up to a maximum of $1300 back in state and council rebates. Given there's a 16 week delivery time from now and that I can;t apply for the rebates until its installed I may not be able to get any rebates at all if those scum sucking government types decide its costing too much. Anyway its sending me to the poorhouse and now they are saying I'll have to buy a pool blanket etc. Those things aren't cheap! ANd besides, I saw someone promoting them as "they can increase the water temperature by up to 10 degress C, extending the swimming season". Thanks but no thanks, my pool is like bathwater some days already. Grrrrrrr.

I'd turn RANT mode off now, except I'm not sure I'm finished..
Just a well mate I have heard form several people who should know. That the concil and local goverment is going to have a charge for anyone with a water tank that has got a rebate back. They will have a levy for useing rain water as you are nicking it from their supply
Remeber You are dealing with the goverment nothing is free and they give nothing away

Reads90 I think you are confused - this sued to apply to industry but hasn;t been mooted as you describe. It'd be a quick way to get UN-elected.

Vlad, $2,000 - I just ordered a tank, pump and connection to laundry toilet its going to set me back $4000 and I only get $1000 back - so your deal ain't bad ! The pump is some special thing that automatically switches back to mains water if the tank runs dry.

I don't have water tanks and will get them but not just yet. I like the fact it does not rain all time. I have had 34 years of it raining every day for 8 months of the year, so no rain is nice to me

We didn't get a rebate (scabby Logan City council )

Level 5, not affecting us since our tank is now full with the last burst of rain. I get some nasty looks from people at work when I'm using the hose to clean out plastering gear but you can't do it in a bucket and you need water pressure to get into all the nooks and crannies to get the crap out

If you want to get them but "not just yet" you better order them now. It's a long wait.

Heathcote - South of Sydney - Level 3

Not heading to level 4 probably because the Gov is in election mode and too gutless to up the restrictions. They will however spend a few billion on a desal plant.

    Current dam levels @ 37%
our local dam (Wopronora) @ 30%

****! Hiline used to make me clean his plastering tools in a bucket! IT was damn hard!

    Gimme a hose anyday.

Level 3 here. It's bad. It rained for 30 seconds today. It was a good day.

If you live in Cleveland why do you need a tank at all ? You have plenty of water.
