What does that mean? I'm not good with insurance rules, just want to know a little more about insurance details. If possible, could you please give me an example.

    (I'm about rims )

    Thanks,
    Ruslan

    Insurance can suck some times.

I went looking for an approved alloy rim for the fender 130 and in the end went and bought a second set of OEM steel rims.

The steel rims on a 130 are thicker, heavier, and wider than those on a 110 or 90! Not interchangeable.

They also have a different offset on the 130 that is meant to improve the turning circle!

I could find plenty of places that assured me their brand would be OK until I asked for a statement for the insurance company and they checked the loads and then they just ran for cover.

I believe the Aussie army ones are even heavier than 130 ones and Perentie ones maybe even heavier again !

Stuck with steel but insured no probs

    James

I just love real world examples of my theories. Glad you found the fault before something went leg up on you.
Over 25 yrs ago, I had a nasty race track accident, because of an unkown crack in a mag wheel. Sliding through a corner at nearly 100 MPH when the rim on my front wheel just broke apart.

I have NEVER fitted a mag wheel to any of my road vehicles since.

Learn to hate and distrust mag wheels people, they can let you down badly.
Is a bit of flash and bling really worth yours or some body else's life?

    Shorty.

    Thumbs up

    Regards to you too Frank.

I did some research after that crash. Will not even contemplate mag wheels now.
Steel wheels was good enough for grand pappy, good enough for me.
And, I have never had a steel wheel break underneath me, under any circumstance.
Bent a few, but never broken any.

    Shorty.
