Only a Land Rover nut would understand!

I am faced with a delema. I have just spent some serious money on my wifes new car. A BMW X5 diesel. Beautiful car, and a pleasure to drive. Now the delema... I still would rather drive my TD5 Defender. There is just something about that diesel rattle on acceleration (The X5 sounds like a V8). I feel part of the car, and the environment. The poor air conditioning, noise, and wind drifting through, the dust, and dog hair floating about, and even the seating position, have burned something into my brain. Do I need help?

    A Defender slave.

No you're perfectly fine. It's important though to remove the outside threat if you're to become completely health again.

PM me with your details and I'll pop around and take the X5 away for you so you don't have any more repressed anxiety.

Interestingly, the first time we were at Fraser a X5 was the only "soft roader" I saw up there

Mudnut ... just means you are a true landy nutbag. I often think my relationship with the defender is very close to unhealthy ...

Look at it this way .. now you've got one of the best road/town cars .. and definitely the best bush/offroad car! You are now complete my son ..

There's something about Land Rovers that gives you a good feeling when you drive them!

The X5 is just cold German efficiency.

That's fair enough - BMWs are for girls - Land Rovers are for men.

SWMBO doesn't like the Disco - but would like a BMW girl car.

She has a friend who bought a little 316 ten years ago - which is tiny - and kid hopeless, but they like 'em for some unknown reason...... It must be the badge.....

hehehe...must be something that gets in the blood mate. The problem with other cars/fourbies is they are a boring drive and (to my mind) this is what makes a Landy, and particularly the Defender, an "attractive" car.

    Just something about them........

    And...the kids love 'em.

The only car to come near driving my old s2a and now defender was...wait for it......... an Austin Healey 3000......it was s oft top and belting around the country raods in it wit the top down was great...albeit for only 30 mins.
