I was informed by someone last week about this that apparently you can claim them on Insurance under fusion or something. ;)
I have one pump that just died and the other pump wont be far off so waiting on that one to go and then I was going to claim on both. The pumps have done pretty good 8 years of running. The salt chlorinator has also just gone for a holiday as well
Dose anyone know if you can claim on Insurance for these items?.
Hmm good idea will check out the insurance angle. Ta.
Vlad what are you doing?
You need a new pump, this is the perfect excuse to get an old series in the backyard, surely you could rig it up to run as a pool pump. Just run a pair of filters before and after the cooling system on the old 2.25. At least then when the pump dies you can rebuild it.
I like the way you think.
I have placed an order here:

they are local-ish so I should get it in a day or so.
G'day Vlad :)
Are you replacing with a PC-200  as their add only goes up to PC-150;)
cheers
Yep the PC-200, page is being updated will be on there later today or tomorrow. Gotta be in the know ;)
Wrong. I rang Sunsorp and they will pay on any motor up to 10 years old, but:
1. You must have specified fusion cover in your policy (general, don;t need to list indivdual items)
2. You must get a written advice from a repairer to say its shot / why its shot / how much it would cost to repair and to replace.
3. You must still pay the excess on the policy.
So since I sourced a NEW pump for $364, I'd need to go to a repairer and probably pay for a quote for a repair just in order to get $64 back. Now while $64 is not to be sneezed at and they assure me that it won;t affect my premium, I'm not sure it's worth all the hassle.
Anyway, new pump should be here tomorrow arvo I hope.
Cool. I must look at our insurance next renewal...
