G'day P38arover :)
All our work had to be done in Fountain Pen, and if a biro was used we had to re-do it 10 times in ink pen:( I have forgotten the number of schafer script nibs that I have worn out:( We had a drop dead georgious French teacher, Miss Francis:D  but alas I didn't do French, did an Industrial Course, woodwork, sheetmetal, trade drawing, etc.
but we all had the hots for Miss F:eek: a perfect size 10:D
Did my primary at Norman Park State School years, Prep 1 to grade 8 (scholarship) then on to Balmoral, first year, new school, broke the bad disipline record held by Wynnum High in under 10months:cool: most of the students were sons and daughters of the abattoir worker's so they were quite street wise, before it became a fashion word.
cheers
A good Australian:(
Some people thought he was crazy:p
Ralph
A sad passing from my era............we rocked to his music.
I read the first of his books not long ago, a good read
Think I saw him at the Capitol in Perth...........the memory is dim
Vale Billy, Rest in peace mate.
Will never forget the old High School music teachers horror, as I stared belting out Thorpy's version of "Somewhere over the rainbow" at a school concert. In my opinion, a far better version than the "dorothy" version.
A dim memory of the Aztecs being the loudest rock and blues band in Australia during the 60's and early 70's. I think it was Billy, who taught Jimi Hendricks to turn the amp up to 11.
Went to see him play in Adelaide,at the old Governor Hindmarsh Hotel, when he first came home. Great night, I stood center stage all night, just watching the man work. Mick Fleetwood on drums, can't remember the rest of "The Zoo", but, what a loud night.
Shorty.
i missed seeing him but the memory of his music will always be there
You missed much Rangie, you missed much.
Shorty.
So what do you all reckon he's sitting up there drinking with Bon Scott, or argueing with the morpheno brothers.
Which ever way it'll be a loud night in heaven cause the gangster of love is in town.
