Or you can live a really boring life and die at 80.

Like Billy Connolly says (something along the lines of) "Why do people eat brown bread? It might give you a few extra years but you get them at the end of your life when you're dribbling and ****ing yourself. F that!"

Saw Billy play at the Village Green in Melbourne about 12 years ago. He was part of Mick Fleetwoods Zoo. Probably the best nights entertainment I have seen although my ears were ringing for days afterwards. It was LOUD. I read a story about him a few years ago and he seemed to be a decent bloke. He lived next door to Mick Fleetwood whilst in America and the families kids played together. He will be missed, another great entertainer gone.

I remember at high school in 1964 (crikey, I was doing Senior that year!) when he had the hit, Poison Ivy, that he got a bit of rubbishing in chemistry class as we were doing something on calomine lotion.

Billy was in the same year as me at Salisbury State High but not in my class.

Yep. Not a bad school. I had a few great teachers who I really liked - Mr. Pearce (or Pierce) for physics, I can't remember my Chem teacher's name - all I can remember is that he was Chief Instructor of the Qld Parachute Club (we could do parachuting as a schools sport) and that his name reminds me of Avagadro (as in the theorem). I really liked him as well. We also had an excellent English teacher. Another one I remember had large breasts and she wore low cut tops. We all loved her classes - especially when she leant over our desks.

Funnily enough, my best grades (physics (Mr Pearce or Pierce), chemistry (Mr. Avagadro , geometry and trig (Mr Brough), were in classes where I really liked the teachers.

I went to Calamvale Public prior to that. The headmaster there was great and I really liked him (he also gave me coaching after school to get me up to speed on the Qld curriculum after I moved from Sydney) and I lusted after his daughter - 6ft tall (same as me) slim blonde.

Maybe that's why I can spell. I recently came across my report card from Hume Weir School in 1954 - I got an A in spelling way back then. My report cards from Salisbury weren't as good. However, I did get 5 As, 3 Bs, 2 Cs, and a P (pass in French) in the Junior (11 subjects!) and a similar result in the Senior Public Examination.

I don't remember that. I do remember taping several Biros together so that when I had to write out lines, I wrote several lines at a time.
