Wait for the new one in september, RMP reckons he will upgrade when its released from his current one. If i had the cash i would.

If you buy a current one i cant see it being a problem they havent changed in several years so all the bugs will be well and truely worked out. Matt

I'm afraid to say I'd be cautious of the new ones. Just give them a few months to sort the bugs.

The issues with Defenders generally & the current model are well documented, & aren't a huge problem in my book.

With the new one, you'll have the joy of some being carried over e.g. water leaks in the roof, plus all the surprises of new ones!

Sorry for the hijack but can anyone give me the bare bones,or where to look up, on leasing? Desperate for a Fender but don't have the cash up front and I reckon my D1 is worth, well..

AFAIK It's much the same as getting any kind of loan. Shop around banks and such for good rates. Probably not the best idea to get it from the dealer unless the manufacturer is doing it as a purchase incentive thing.

I'm not sure if this is relevant but it is impossible to get a new Defender in Australia now. If you want a new one - to buy or lease - you'll have to wait for September.

Nah...use a broker (preferably Me ). Quite often though the dealers or their finance company, can give better rates than the banks. I would get a quote from them as a starting point anyway.
