If you dont actually want to spend a lot of money for a car but still want a good usable car I'd recommend a late 80s or early 90s Volvo 200 series. You can get them with leather and V6s and all that and they wont cost more then $5,000 for a really good condition one, cheap to run, cheap to insure, cheap to fix, reliable, easy to drive. Sure you own a Volvo but you save more money to spend on the Rover, go figure!
An old Volvo isn't a theft target either. Hey I'm not a big fan of them but I do admit they are really under-rated cars.

Oh wow Max! Surely you couldn't think of selling Tusker after all of the time and effort you've putting into making it what it is. A D3 would never do all of the things that you ask of Tusker as well as Tusker. Somebody suggested airbag springs and it may even be worth chatting to Wooders re this as he has a system now that works and airbags are available that would suit the front and rear of a Defender and in long travel bags. You may need to pull the centre shock though. Keeping in mind that the roof height specs are given by LandRover, it may be worth throwing a tape measure over Tusker, as the specs given for the D2 I found to be way off, with mine needing a 2" lift to match the factory height specs.

Max! Hey I saw Tusker today sitting at the lights on pacific hwy heading north... I was heading south turning onto the gore-hill freeway.... only noticed you at the last second as I rounded the corner... so appologies for no wave.
Anyway, I've been struggling with the same bloody problem since I got a new job up in Chatswood last August. Company I work for had lack of space under their own building so they put some of us new guys in a wilsons car park across the road... clearance in there was no better but got to know the guy who ran the car park and he always kept a spot at the top for me as I entered - never had to spiral down to the lower levels. I think he was more worried about me taking one of the sprinklers out.
Don't know but maybe that's an option... if there are any other car parks around with a bit more clearance that you can get your company to hire out independantly... then maybe rent out the one under your building to someone else?
Cheers

The other thing... have you physically checked it out?
I've got no lift - measured mine a couple of times - it's been 2040, 1095 and spot on 2000 - buggered if I know why - just depends on the gradient of the ground and how much crap I've got in the back of the wagon. I've sneaked it in under some car parks I'd never thought could get in under.
It might pay to take someone with you and try it out... maybe it actually fits?
Cheers

Mini cooper s? You going for an Italian Job style garage.
It is a feasible option they are quick, stylish and reasonably priced, but like the D2 it's a (Boring Middleaged Wankers) produced car therefore reliable, safe and apart from the badge FA in common with the original cult vehicle it is named after.
Now a Lotus, TVR or similar?
Max do yourself a favour, Check out the website below

Max get your self a datsun sunny for a run round when it 5hits it self and dies you can have fun crushing it by driving tusker over it then go find another at least you wont have to lock it up cause no bugger will steal it![]()
I would get out in the real world and shake the city living.
