Frankly, I'm a bit disappointed in you all (or some), recommending Volvos and such

this is Land Rover land and not Volvo land or any other pretender to the crown of 4wd.

Tusker has a problem and its our job to help him.

Given his description of the (obviously large, but squeezed) building he is about to inhabit, as a tenancy and therefore unmodifiable - the great minds here need to foreshadow a motion...

Get the new Freo, Tusker, and you'll have a daily driver and a Land Rover.

    Seconded?

Your in North Sydney, parking is at a premium.

    Easy.

Rent out the space under your building.

Rent another space around the corner with decent headroom.

Probably a minor bugger to set up, but that's about it.

Or buy another carspace. The cost probably wouldn't be that different to what you would lose selling Tusker and getting another car.

    Dont sell Tusker!

I havent seen it in the flesh but I have read about and watched it enough........you'll regret it .

I sold my Defender (for various reasons) and as soon as it was gone I missed it too death......I still had my rangie (pig) but it wasnt the same.....Now I have another 110. I feel soooo much better.

Well thanks all for the suggestions, serious & otherwise!

No I haven't actually tried it yet. but at 6'4" or so, I look up at the roofline. It ain't gunna work.

Hi Slunnie, hadn't thought of airbags, I wonder how reliable thay are in say the Hay River??

Thank you Dobbo for your every helpful suggestions I see PRB's still use a Corolla engine.

Scouse, how did you know about the MG? Anyway, its no daily driver in this day & age. Its a 59 model, not safe enough, no heater/demister, no syncho on 1st, etc etc . If you remember pre-decimal currency, it used to be said of the ride - if you drove over a 2 bob bit, you could tell which side was up, the Queen or the Kangaroo.

    Keep 'em coming!

    Regards
    Max P

Max, I'm in a similar situation although my Defender can actually squeeze into the building. I'm also looking for a small run around to "save the km's" on the Greylandy. I would suggest you do the same and just look for other storage options for Tusker. You will loose mega dollars if you sell the fender, especially with all the gear you've got on it.
