Nor offended in the least. I hope I don't offend thee by taking no interest in sport.![]()
The best thing about the Olympics was that traffic to and from work was much reduced. It took me less time to get to/from work during the Olympics (and for some time after).
I didn't watch any of the events (apart from the opening ceremony - I didn't bother watching the closing ceremony) on TV and couldn't care less who won what or which country won more medals. It was completely unimportant to me.
I wouldn't have attended anything anyway as I absolutely hate crowds and will not go anywhere where there are crowds.

yeah john, i was on the gates at the athletes villiage - so i spent the entire games sittinginside a white tent xraying things - i hated it to the max - was on the quads on the first day though - made the papers as apparently someonecaused 10 grands worth of damage to the villiage.
in the end i chucked that many sikkies that when time came to send people back to their units early i got to go early.
as for athletes that were nice - the para's were the best nicests professional athletes i have ever met -

I have met Colin Bond on quite a few occasions. My wife met Hayley Lewis, and has met Micheal Micheal Hill Hill Jeweler Jeweler (for those of you who remember the most annoying ads). I have shaken hands with Prince Charles

I forgot about Colleen McCullough. She gave me a full set of her books - all autographed "To Ron and Elisabeth, with love, Colleen McCullough" - when I left Norfolk Island.

Thanks ron, I didn't think you would take it the wrong way, hey your not doing too bad though dropping some good names every now and then. Collen McCulloch is a good one.
Hey Mick, thought as much, you'd know me then, my face anyway, mark smith and i were there nearly everyday, i was the bloke that started up the random f/p's off in all the public access areas, circular quay etc, only because I was told we couldn't do it.
So you were on the nightshift that all the trouble occured, with the quads. I remeber seeing some divots near the back fence
Were you working the day the Atlantics came through the xray tent,
you'd know darryl holder and greg black, they turned into grade one knobs there at that venue.
You know the little garden of plastic animals the aussie netballers had in front of their house, mine and smithys dog made off with them.
The credit union did a blurb on me at the commonwealth games.
No mate i have gone the way of most of the pre-88ers, got broken , **** on, and went. i think you told me that gledo was on the way out too, i was there the other week and he is definately gone. Hey I was a one eight. and i think gleddo is a one seven, the threes are, we,ll the top levels. i'll bet there is a three doing an LAC job. I know there were a lot of 25's and 26's as lacs. Unheard of, no wonder all the experience is leaving.
I'll leave the blurbs for aussie cops, its more fun on there.
john
