The cab rear prevents the seat from reclining so far. Hence you sit more upright, effectively closer to the steering wheel with your upper body.

if a fat bastard like me can fit in a single cab yoot, you shouldn't have any trouble.
I fixed the problem........
my old Racing seat.... he is a narrower back......
now i have to make the mounts different as i need the base to tilt so i can fill the Aux tank under the seat..........
Opppsssss did i let loose i have a Aux tank?????

Wow an uncomfortable defender, who would have thought...
Why not go back to a piece of foam with a vinyl cover on it and just bolt the same on the back of the cab like its meant to have with a cab like that.
The old S2 had that and I recon it wasnt too bad, but Vic Roads (or your equivilent) may not like it.
